Andrew Wyeth, the greatest American Artist of the 20th century (along with Edward Hopper) died on January 16 at the age of 91. His watercolors are peerless. He captured the beautiful landscapes of the northeast, particularly near his home in Chadd's Ford, Pennsylvania. His realism was a refreshing reminder of what art ought to be in contrast to charlatans like Andy Warhol.

We visited the Brandywine River Museum in Chadds Ford a couple of years ago to see his art. We had the privilege of having Wyeth's granddaughter as our tour guide. She told many interesting anecdotes about her grandfather and the stories behind the paintings. Great place to visit.
Deb,
I agree. When I lived in Exton as a child my parents took me to the Brandywine River Museum. I look forward to taking my kids there.
Love the Brandywine River Museum and LOVE Andrew Wyeth. I still remember my first grade art lesson about his work. Seriously.
Todd I don't know what your position on drinking is, but when you visit the BRM, the Chadds Ford winery nearby is also very cool!
