Curse This Global Warming!

It's snowing in Houston and New Orleans! Over a million homes from New York to Vermont are frozen and without power!
How cold does it have to get before we realize it's getting warmer?
When will we learn that the earth's temperature never fluctuated until the invention of the internal combustion engine and the election of Republican politicians?

Press on Al Gore! We need you now more than ever.

No, I'm sorry, this is not funny at all. The very fact that you think because it snowed on the East Coast proves that you do not even understand what Global Warming really is. Global Warming is the phenomena of the average world temperature increasing gradually. Yes, there will always be scientists who disagree with others, and this is true of all topics. The majority of scientists would say that Global Warming is very real.
I would say that I do not think it is as severe as some people may make it seem. In other words, I don't think the polar ice caps will cease to exist in 30 years, but there is a serious cause here.

ave,

We'll agree to disagree as to whether or not this is funny.

The "science" that supports man-made global warming is simply junk and loaded with political agendas.

What is the earth's ideal temperature?

What caused the global warming trend during the 16th century?

What caused the mini-ice age during the 18th century?

Why are an increasing number of scientists departing from the global warming orthodoxy?

Again, I disagree. I don't know why you put science in quotes, since it is not faulty evidence based on a flimsy theory. Scientists are not departing from the idea of global warming, and many strongly agree that solutions need to be found. I find that all scientific statements are politically backed by some party. Global Warming was acknowledged by the Bush Administation, and the Obama and McCain campaigns. Therefore, this "junk" clearly has some weight behind it.

A number of scientists are backing away from the dire predictions that were eagerly made when this topic was first brought to attention. And as I said before, I do not believe these extreme predictions to be true. (ie- The idea that Pennsylvanians will have shore front property in 50 years.) That does not mean, however, that global warming simply does not exist.

ave,

Man-made global warming is a sham. The fact that Bush, McCain, and Obama acknowleged it is utterly meaningless. Politicians are the last ones we can trust on this issue. Can anyone say "Al Gore"?

Global temperatures have always fluctuated. So far you have offered no proof of man-made global warming. It most certainly is junk science.

To be perfectly frank, I have no need to prove anything. And to be perfectly scientific, the burden of proof rests on the one who made the statement. All the evidence you have provided are quotes from 3 scientists who don't believe in global warming.

And there is proof of global warming. The Earth's average temperature has risen almost 1/2 a degree.(You can check this from various reliable sources.) You make think this is meaningless, but it does have significant consequences.

As far as politics are concerned, the fact that Republicans and Democrats alike acknowledged global warming as a serious issue proves that this is not just political banter to benefit one party.
