Biblical Masculinity

Justin Taylor links to an interview and audio of C. J. Mahaney giving advice to men on being a husband and father (C.J. Mahaney on Biblical Masculinity) Good stuff.

Thank you. I struggle with how to raise my boys in a world where girls are "princesses" and boys are expected to bow to thier whims.

Noel,

It seems that boys are not taught about biblical masculinity perhaps because their fathers were never taught. I think our culture sees masculinity not as something that is good and therefore worthy of cultivating. Instead, masculinity is seen as a disorder needing correction. I think this is particularly true in our schools. There is a real need for male teachers. Also, boys need to be affirmed in their "boyness."
