On the Road

I am so thankful for the people of Metro East. I am grateful that they allow me the opportunity to attend important conferences. I am writing this post from Paducah, Kentucky. I decided to make a road trip out of the journey to North Carolina. I'll arrive in time tomorrow for the first session. The conference may be an historic one for Southern Baptists. It is called "Building Bridges: Southern Baptists and Calvinism" (http://www.lifeway.com/lwc/article_main_page/0%2C1703%2CA%25253D165917%252526M%25253D201125%2C00.html?). There is a full schedule of outstanding speakers. I hope that the conference will help Southern Baptists put away the daggers over this issue.

While I am thankful for the opportunity to attend the conference I will, as always, miss being home. I missed being in the pulpit this morning but I know that Kris did a great job. I am blessed to work with men who do not need me to be effective in their ministry.

I will be posting daily on the conference sessions. I hope they will be helpful and encouraging to you.

Do you have an email address that I could send you an email? I have a few question that I would like to ask you. Thank you!

Josh,

I learned from your profile that you attend RTS and have the opportunity to work with Derek Thomas. I am a student with RTS/Virtual. It has been a great experience for me and has helped me grow in my knowledge of God and deepen my worship of Him. Blessings to you as you work, study, and serve.

Josh,

You may email me at tpruitt@metroeastbaptist.com. I will be out the rest of the week so I won't be able to reply until next week. Also, please feel free to call me. My office number can be found at the Metro East Baptist web page.

Great to hear that you work for D.T. He is one of my favorite writers and lecturers. I have very much enjoyed his commentaries for Welwyn. Also, his book on Calvin's preaching on Job is outstanding.

I am so glad to hear that both of you have had a great experience with the RTS group. I love it here at RTS and would HIGHLY recomend it.

I will pass on all the kind words to Derek. I really enjoy working alongside him. He is a great godly man that is kind and gracious in ways I cannot even begin to describe.

It is late and I need to get to bed. Talk to you all soon.
