Eight Years Later

Today is a sobering anniversary. Who can forget sitting in front of their TV or listening in shock to the radio as the unspeakable evil of 9/11/2001 unfolded?

For Christians, may today be an occasion for sober reflection and prayer.

May we do what Jesus instructed when asked about tragedy and evil - examine our own hearts and repent.

May we pray for our President as he carries the enormous burden to lead our military and seek solutions to protect our country from future attacks.

May we pray for our military leaders and soldiers as they root out evil-doers who continue their plans to kill citizens.

May we pray for our intelligence services who are seeking to discover terrorist cells around the world.

May we pray for the church of Jesus Christ that we may be heralds of the Good News even, and perhaps especially to our enemies.
