As a fellow Southern Baptist and the wife of a music minister, I have my own ideas about why the church membership is declining. I think we have exalted ourselves and denied a high view of God.
I may be weird, but declining numbers might be a good thing. Maybe we will quit counting nickels and noses and look to see who is truly regenerate in our congregations.

ReplyDeleteOur quest in SBC churches for ever larger crowds is probably the leading factor in unregenerate church membership. It's epidemic.
By the way, I like your thoughts on how you'd like to "do church."
