Todd, just read a fantastic chapter in Stephen Nichols' "Getting the Blues" showcasing Naomi as a woman of sorrows. He talks about while we have the type of Christ in Boaz as kinsman redeemer, and Obed, as the seed, Naomi is like an archetype of humanity, "replete with rhythms of the curse, but thankfully also the rhythms of the cross" (108). Really enjoyed reading it.
